Thanks for the review! That Friday a.m. Demo irks me. I had zero plans to attend this year (first time missing). May have to check out some of this nonsense just to get a feel for what my family is being brainwashed with so I can ask choice questions. Doesn't it ever cross anyone's mind there that Jesus didn't treat nonbelievers that way??

I just realized....
by Muddy Waters ini just realized i've basically lost the past 30 years of culture... listening to music, being rediscovered and discovering new music... political stuff happening around the world and yes, dammit, all that political stuff is important!!!
tons of other things that, thanks to the wts's very diligent application of the i part of the bite method (information control) i am only beginning to find out or discover.... .

It's so frustrating!! They're happy to be ignorant. I used to make comments about well publicized events and the blank stares drove me crazy. I thout we were supposed to be well informed so we could cover topics at the door or in informal witnessing. Another reason I'm happy to be free and making friends that care about news and world events. Also, nice to reconnect with many ex JWs from my childhood that have left and educated themselves about all kinds of topics.

Mormon's using the web to escape their cult.
by cantleave inhttp://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/21/us/some-mormons-search-the-web-and-find-doubt.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0.
when fellow believers in sweden first began coming to him with information from the internet that contradicted the churchs history and teachings, he dismissed it as anti-mormon propaganda, the whisperings of lucifer.
he asked his superiors for help in responding to the members doubts, and when they seemed to only sidestep the questions, mr. mattsson began his own investigation.. but when he discovered credible evidence that the churchs founder, joseph smith, was a polygamist and that thebook of mormon and other scriptures were rife with historical anomalies, mr. mattsson said he felt that the foundation on which he had built his life began to crumble.. around the world and in the united states, where the faith was founded, the mormon church is grappling with a wave of doubt and disillusionment among members who encountered information on the internet that sabotaged what they were taught about their faith, according to interviews with dozens of mormons and those who study the church.. i felt like i had an earthquake under my feet, said mr. mattsson, now an emeritus area authority.

I read this article the day it came out and like it on my Facebook feed. I ended up too nervous to repost with a smart comment as I had just posted the article about the 375 million real estate sale. This article combined with the one about Mormons not utilizing door-to-door as much would get some to think, I hope. One brother actually posted the article about preaching with the comment that JW's were only ones following Christ's example. A sister commented, adding an insult to Mormons. Took everything I had to a.) not comment so, was Jesus admonishing we insult others that b.) were following his example (since the br. Did just point out how now we are the only ones).
